However I don’t believe that’s a huge factor. The Vita is an amazing device, but it is not profitable enough for Sony, or anyone else, to spend a great deal of money developing games for it.īy the way, Sony can get some of the blame for implementing their own ludicrously expensive memory cards. They would much rather spend little to nothing on smartphone apps that can hold them over until they get home. People don’t want to spend that $200 for a device that can’t quite reach console quality.

The blame for that goes to those ios and android devs that we all hate so much. But you need to understand that it is not really Sony’s fault that there aren’t more. But the people who buy consoles to play just one game aren’t really gamers, are they? Terraria plays much better on Vita than even PC as far as I’m concerned, and way better than android/ios.ĭo I wish there were more AAA games like Killzone Mercenary? Most definitely. Did I buy it just to play Terraria? No, of course not.
You throw around words like “nobody likes this” or “nobody wants that,” and you’re just plain wrong.

A lot of people won’t, or can’t do You need to realize that there are plenty of people that don’t share your opinion. I had to buy a PS3 to make my PS+ subscription worth it. But, if PS+ was intended on being a selling point for the Vita, for players who own neither a PS3 or a PS4, there is very, very little there that would compel a person to believe that it was a service they could not do without. The first few months of this year absolutely paid for my subscription. PS+ has been good to me, for the most part.

More games fail than not, when they try to go from mouse controls to a controller or portable device. But, Terraria was originally a Windows game. I agree that phones are pure crap when it comes to controls, especially the ones with the on-screen analog stick that is always wonky. FFX-X2 HD Remix took care of that for me, and with the servers still up, for some strange reason, I am still playing Mortal Kombat more than any other game on the Vita. I bought one specifically for Mortal Kombat on-the-go, and the hopes that moar Final Fantasy titles would come out for the Vita. No one is going to buy a Vita to be able to play Terraria on I am not sure if they bought a Vita JUST to play Terraria. There’s a reason Capcom and Konami and Squeenix and Atlus and Camelot and all of the rest of these devs haven’t crapped out a game like Terraria. The Vita is pretty much flailing around while Sony tries to figure out if they want to turn it into a Wii U tablet for the PS4, to dedicate it to 99-cent apps that no one plays on Android anymore, or to offer slightly lesser ports of PS3 titles, kind of like how the PSP did with PS2 titles. The PSP, for all of its flaws and faults, is still my favorite portable gaming console, due to the enormous amount of high-quality games and support from fantastic third-party devs. I bought a Vita to play excellent AAA titles by excellent, well-known developers, not to give indie programmers and coders an outlet for their Made-For-Hipsters games. I have a phone for crappy games that I don’t care about. But, if it can be easily ported practically 1-to-1 to a phone, I do not want it on my Vita.
